Thomas M. Murray MD

Dr. Murray has been in practice in Fishkill since 1973. After having practiced both Obstetrics (maternity care) and Gynecology (women’s healthcare) for twenty-five years, he now provides gynecological services only.

He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Medical Association, New York State Medical Association and the Dutchess County Medical Society.

Dr. Murray earned his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in 1961 and Doctor of Medicine from the College of Physicians and Surgeons at Columbia University in 1965. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Sloane Hospital for Women at the Columbia University in 1971. He then served as attending obstetrician and gynecologist at the U.S. Army Hospital at WestPoint, New York from 1971-1973.

He entered private practice with the Fishkill Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1973 and has been an attending Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Vassar Brothers Medical Center since 1973. He served as Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at this medical center from 1989 to 1991.

Dr. Murray earned his board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1973. He was admitted to fellowship by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 1971.

Dr. Murray has served as an Instructor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Columbia University form 1981 to 1988 and as Instructor in the Residency Program at St. Francis Hospital from 1997 to 2000. He was a founding director of the Taconic IPA, which has evolved into the primary HMO in the Hudson Valley Region.

He has also served as a panelist in several seminars on medical malpractice, including a Public Television broadcast.

Dr. Murray was honored by the Foundation for Vassar Brother's Medical Center in 2004 for his outstanding services to the community.

Dr. Murray lives in Millbrook, New York.
