Dr. Robert A. Stern MD

Dr. Stern has been in practice in Fishkill since 1980. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Medical Association, New York State Medical Association, Dutchess County Medical Society and the Society of Reproductive Endocrinologists.

Dr. Stern earned his bachelor’s degree in science, with honors in Chemistry, from Brown University in 1973, and his Doctor of Medicine from the New York Medical College in 1976. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in 1980.

Dr. Stern entered private practice with the Fishkill Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1980 and has been an attending Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He became a Co-Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of this Medical Center in 1997.

He earned his certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1982. He was admitted to fellowship by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the same year.

He served as a co-director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Medical and Dental Staff at the Vassar Brothers Medical Center, with Dr. Zolnik from February 1998 to February 2005.

Dr. Stern has also served as Instructor in the postgraduate course in Gynecologic Laser Surgery at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (1989-1993). He is currently a member of the Board of Directors at the MVP Health Plan, and an advisory board member of the Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

He lives in Wappingers Falls, New York, with his wife Anita.
